Simply Waste Solutions’ Academy Training Manager, Kevin Barcroft has been elected as Chairman of the Freight Transport Association (FTA) East of England Freight Council.

As the business organisation representing the interests of the logistics sector, FTA’s regular Freight Council meetings provide its 17,000 members with the opportunity to directly influence FTA’s policy agenda, discuss the latest developments regarding logistics, and network with industry peers. Kevin has been attending a member of the Council for over a decade, serving as Vice Chairman for a number of those years.

Kevin being even more involved in the FTA will give Simply Waste Solutions further exposure within the wider logistics sector. It will also ensure that the waste industries needs will be taken into consideration during discussions.

“It’s an honour to take on this important role, I am both excited and very aware of the responsibilities this privilege brings.

We have always been fully engaged in all matters relating to the waste and transport industries, as we’ve been active members of the FTA for over a decade; especially with me serving as Vice Chairman of the East of England Freight Council for a number of years. Nevertheless, now being Chairman, should help fix Simply Waste more firmly centre stage in most of the important issues facing our industry and the country as a whole.”
