Over the weekend the annual Flackwell Heath community litter pick and gardening morning was held. This sees the community pull together to pick up litter and give the garden outside the community centre a spring spruce up.
It’s organised by the Flackwell Heath Residents’ Association and this year had a large number of volunteers from Flackwell Heath Minors FC, who we’ve been kit sponsors of since the beginning of the season. So, it was a natural fit for us to support the village where our head office is located, by providing rubbish bags and several bin drop off points to be emptied after the event.
It was a great day, with some lovely weather and together during the two-hour clean up, together the community managed to fill 10 bins full of litter. This is not only to smarten up the village but also bring the community together and we’re glad that we could help with that.
The litter collected has been taken to an Energy from Waste plant to be turned into energy to power homes and businesses.
