Here at Simply Waste Solutions, we want our staff to feel valued and reward the hard work they do that contributes to our success.

We recently held our 2018 Drivers’ Awards to recognise and reward the hard work that the drivers out on the road are doing for us. The award categories for the evening included:

Drivers’ driver HGV and non-HGV
Most legally compliant
Most fuel efficient
Most improved
An overall driver of the year

We believe in rewarding our employees for many reasons; it promotes healthy competition within our drivers, it allows them to feel valued in their role and also aids employee retention, which is imperative for the business to succeed.

Statistics show that driving is a career choice in decline and we want to celebrate the drivers who are leading the way in our operations team. The black-tie event was first held last year to encourage our drivers to be the ‘best’ driver they can be and following the great feedback we received, we’ve turned it into an annual event. For us, the business isn’t as simple as just emptying bins, it’s about being as safe as possible while minimising emissions by driving efficiently, all contributing towards our primary job.
