The Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) will be coming into effect in central London from 8th April 2019 and will affect nearly all vehicles. This 24/7 traffic management and emission reduction scheme covers the same locations as the current Congestion Charge, the Mayor of London hopes that the introduction of the ULEZ will improve air quality in the capital.
As a waste management company, we rely on refuse collection vehicles to carry out our customers waste collections. Therefore, it’s important to give our drivers training to ensure they’re driving economically to reduce emissions as well as maximising fuel efficiency. All our trucks are fitted with sophisticated telematic systems to record and give feedback on how our drivers are driving meaning we can see if more training is needed.
In October 2021 the ULEZ boundary will be expanded creating a larger zone bounded by the North and South Circular Roads, an expansion we will be ready and excited for.
