How COVID-19 Might Effect the Waste Industry

Life as we know it has changed. Since the beginning of lockdown in March, all non-essential shops had to close and business had to adapt to remote working very quickly. This global pandemic has affected the world in so many ways and will continue to do so for a very long time, perhaps forever.

As a business, we’ve had to adapt quickly to react to the changes happening in the world of waste. More people were spending time at home and taking advantage of that to make house improvements or have a clear out. The demand for domestic services skyrocketed at the beginning of lockdown and with an excess of waste containers, HGV trucks and drivers, we decided to expand our domestic waste offering to cover skips, wheelie bins and junk collections.

We’re so proud of how Simply employees have adapted to the changes made and are still delivering the same excellent levels of customer service we strive to achieve.

This month we will be releasing a series of articles discussing how changes in different industries that have been made now might affect the waste industry in the immediate future and a more long-term prediction.
